P.T.S. Driver Information
by Ill Sir Stephen Roberts, Posted on February 27th, 2010

Many new and even some experienced Shriners have inquired as to what the responsibilities and the commitment are for the Patient Transportation Service. Our co-ordinator of P.T.S. Lady Donna Olinik informs us of the following...

PTS transportation is quite simple... The one important issue and I am sure that all Shriners are aware of, is that when they enter the hospital they should be wearing their Fez. Once the driver has been assigned and has received the PTS Pick-up Information, He/She is asked to phone the patient a day or two prior to the appointment to make arrangements for when they should be ready to be picked up. They then drive the patient to their appointment at the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, wait for the appointment to be finished, and then drive the patient home once again.

Children 6 and under, as required by law, need a child car seat which will be provided by Karnak.

The choice is up to you whether you are available during the day OR if you prefer to pickup patients just at the airport in the evening.

The time involved is also up to you. Once a week, once a month, during the day or in the evening, during the week or on the weekend, YOUR DECISION.

Your Lady can be part of this with you.
