Members of Karnak are planning a trip to Egypt in September of 2011. Below is the itinerary for the trip. The cost will be around $2100/per person PLUS airfare and spending money.

Day 1: upon arrival, at Cairo Airport will be met assisted and transferred to Marriott Omar Khayyam 5* Hotel or similar by Private A/C Bus. Entry visas on arrival at Cairo Airport (Approx. US$ 18.00 PP Included). Usual arrival time in Cairo is late PM. Evening supper at Hotel Garden & entertainment (optional not included) unless requested. Casino is also available at hotel for those interested. Overnight.

Day 2: Breakfast. Transfer to the Egyptian Museum,( approx 3 Hrs. visit), Visit Old Cairo, Citadel of Saladin & Mohammed Aly Mosque, Coptic churches. Then the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, Late Lunch at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant recommended (not included) a good lunch approx $12.00 -15.00PP.) Transfer to Hotel. Supper Boat show on the Nile or if time allows supper at Hotel then Sound and Light show in English at the Pyramids. Transfer and Entry fees included.

Day 3: Breakfast. Private Bus Trip to Alexandria approx 3 Hrs. Check in- at Palestine Hotel or at the Sheraton Montaza Hotel , Light Lunch, optional a good Swim in the Mediterranean in the Hotel private Beach Supper at Hotel or Local Restaurant, choice of (Boozouki evening and dance and Greek Sea food supper at the Hellenic Club or at the Sheraton Hotel in Alexandria Included. Beautiful evening-). Back to Hotel & overnight.

Day 4: Breakfast. Visit the new Alexandria Library, the Catacombs, Pompeys Pillar, Roman Theatre, Alexandria Pharos. Tour de Ville, Lunch at Local restaurant, drive back to Cairo to Hotel and overnight.

Day 5: Breakfast. Transfer to Airport for Flight to Luxor, (approx 1:15 hrs.), meet, assist & transfer to Cruise ship, (4 Nights 5 Days Cruise). Lunch on board. Visit the Temple of Karnak and Temple of Luxor. Dinner & overnight on board.

Day 6: Early morning sail to Dendera arrive and visit the Temple of the goddess HATHOR , back to Luxor, lunch and Dinner on board, entertainment.

Day 7: Early morning after breakfast, cross to the west bank to visit the Royal Tombs at the Valley of the Kings , Deir El Bahari and Colossi of Memnon return on board for Lunch. PM Sail to Esna to pass the lock. Dinner & overnight in Esna.

Day 8: Breakfast , visit the Temple of God Horus at Edfu then sail to Aswan arriving early evening, lunch and Dinner on board.

Day 9: After Breakfast , visit the High Dam and Temple of Philae dedicated to goddess ISIS lunch on board, view the Elephantine Island by Felucca ride and the Agha Khan Mausoleum from the outside, Lunch & check out from Ship & Transfer to the Cataract Hotel or Similar in Aswan (Historic Hotel) for overnight, evening tour of Aswan and the Market Dinner at Hotel.

Day 10: Breakfast. Transfer to Airport for Flight to visit ABU SIMBEL small lunch in bags, transfer and return to ASWAN. Check–out from Hotel and transfer to Airport for flight to Cairo and check in at Hotel Marriott or similar for Supper and overnight. If time did not allow on 2nd. Day program , evening transfer to Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.

Day 11: Breakfast. Scenic drive to the Giza plateau to visit Memphis, Sakkara, the Pyramids, and the guardian Sphinx with the body of a Lion and the head of Human. Also at your choice a Camel or Horse rides. Lunch at a local restaurant or (optional lunch at the Oberoi Mena House Hotel Historical Hotel, located at the foot of the Pyramid for an extra difference.) Transfer to the Hotel & evening at leisure, or either a typical Egyptian restaurant called Felfella in Cairo with a folkloric Egyptian menus & decor or (optional supper on a Boat on the Nile) with a choice of 5 different restaurants and menus of different countries. walking distance from hotel or transfer by bus.

Day 12: Breakfast, Transfer to Airport for approx One Hour flight to SHARM EL SHEIKH resort on the red Sea called the city of peace, transfer to a 5* hotel on the beach, Half board basis (B. & S.), here it is sunny all year long, you can go snorkeling, diving, sun bathing , sport activities etc. , evening walk to the market where different shops , souvenirs, shopping, restaurants, and have fun every evening , Casino also available. Relax for 5 days & 4 nights or more if you wish. Possible One Day visit to the famous St. Catherine Monastery and/or one day early at dawn climb Mount Moses where God gave the 10 commands to Moses. And watch the sun rise, you will have a chance to ride Camels and enjoy a Bedouin dinner in the desert.

Day 17: Transfer to Airport for flight to Cairo, and return to Montreal, or Optional One day visit of Heliopolis & Overnight in a 5* Hotel, then following day , transfer to airport for return flight to Montreal.
